Cristóbal Briceño writes in long, densely worded verses, often funny and often unsettled, delivered in a thin, conversational voice over guitar-based arrangements. Fother Muckers, the Santiago band he led through the 2000s, wound up and reformed with largely the same players as Ases Falsos, which became his main outlet. Alongside that he puts out solo material at a rate few Chilean songwriters match, releasing records in quick succession and moving between full-band rock and sparser home recordings.
