About Dreamstate SoCal 2026

Dreamstate is Insomniac's trance sanctuary, and the 2026 SoCal edition runs two November nights on the Queen Mary Waterfront in Long Beach across four stages. The headline row spans the genre's whole family tree: Paul van Dyk with an Essence Of Acid concept set, Above & Beyond playing Anjunabeats classics, psytrance flag-carriers Vini Vici, and melodic-techno giants ARTBAT.

The 70-act bill is built the way trance heads like it: heavy on special sets and back-to-backs. Uplifting purists get Aly & Fila with Billy Gillies, Solarstone and Cold Blue; the psy wing runs Astrix, Infected Mushroom, Neelix and John 00 Fleming; the hard end belongs to Key4050, MaRLo and John Askew with Simon Patterson; and a techno guest list (Reinier Zonneveld live, Enrico Sangiuliano, Giorgia Angiuli) shows how far the brand's borders have stretched.

Expect trance, techno, psytrance and dance across 70 acts.

The headliners

  • Above & Beyond (Anjunabeats Classics) The trio who kept melodic trance emotionally serious through the years nobody else would — and built Anjunabeats around it.
  • ARTBAT Ukrainian duo whose melodic techno went from small rooms to main stages on the back of a handful of enormous records.
  • Paul van Dyk pres Essence Of Acid One of trance's founding figures, three decades in and still building sets around momentum rather than drops. The Essence of Acid project digs back into the 303.
  • Vini Vici The Israeli duo who dragged psytrance onto main stages worldwide — full-on, fast, and completely unashamed about it.

Up-and-comers to catch early

  • Aaron Hibell (Live) Cinematic melodic techno performed live: the crossover kid on a trance bill.
  • Cold Blue Uplifting trance's most consistent new craftsman: pure altitude.
  • Maria Healy Irish trance on the rise: warm, driving, and increasingly hard to miss.
  • Lee Ann Roberts The hard-techno ascendant bringing the dark end to a trance crowd.
  • Shay De Castro Techno's side of the family, a name climbing fast on both coasts.

Other acts worth planning around

  • Reinier Zonneveld (Live) Hours of acid built from scratch on hardware. Nothing else on the bill is made in front of you.
  • Infected Mushroom Psytrance's restless experimentalists, thirty years of refusing to repeat themselves.
  • John 00 Fleming The long-form master: give his set time and it pays compound interest.
  • Key4050 Kearney and O'Callaghan at full tilt, the hardest trance craftsmanship there is.
  • Solarstone Pure trance as a principled stand, unhurried and proud of it.
  • Eddie Halliwell + Judge Jules British radio-era royalty back to back, a history lesson at 140 BPM.
  • 4 Strings (Classics Set) 'Take Me Away' and the vocal-trance songbook, played as written.
