Italian veteran whose late-'90s records — 'Komodo', 'Lizard' — are still set staples a quarter century on.

Mauro Picotto is an Italian DJ and producer who came up through the Italian dance scene of the late 1980s and early 1990s, including a spell as part of the Eurodance group Cappella, before concentrating on his own instrumental work. His run of trance and techno singles at the turn of the millennium — among them "Komodo", "Lizard" and "Iguana" — became widely licensed club records and remain the tracks he is best known for. He has since worked in harder, more techno-oriented territory and has run his own labels, continuing to DJ across Europe.
