Dutch producer working the trance-techno crossover since before it needed a name.

Marco V, born Marco Verkuijlen in Dinther, started out as a teenage DJ in Eindhoven and had built a local following by the mid-1990s, well before tech-trance had a name of its own.

His sets and productions favour driving, stripped-back arrangements over vocal-led trance, sitting at the harder, more percussive end of the genre where trance melody meets techno drive. He has also released material under the alias Vision 20/20.

He is best known for the single "Godd," one of three Marco V tracks to reach the Dutch Top 40, alongside "Simulated" in 2002 and "Loops and Tings Relooped" in 2004. Much of his output, including a long run of productions and remixes, has come out through his own label, In Charge Recordings.

DJ Mag ranked him the 16th best DJ in the world in 2004, and he stayed inside the poll's top 50 every year through 2009.
