Seven Lions is the project of Jeff Montalvo, a producer from Santa Barbara, California. He came to wider attention in the early 2010s with a remix of Above & Beyond's "You Got to Go," and his own work has since combined the heavy low end of dubstep with the chord progressions and build-ups of trance, usually topped with soaring female vocals. He has released mainly through EPs rather than full albums, and founded the Ophelia Records label, which puts out music from a roster working in a similar melodic bass style.
