Barely Alive are an American electronic production group who emerged around 2013 and became closely associated with Disciple Recordings, the UK bass label. They work mainly in dubstep and its heavier offshoots, with tracks built from detailed sound design: layered, morphing bass patches, sharp editing and abrupt drops that shift shape rather than simply repeat.
Alongside their own releases, they are known for collaborations with other artists on the Disciple roster and for a production style that has been widely imitated within the riddim and heavy bass scenes.
