About Lollapalooza India 2027

Lollapalooza India 2027 is the festival's fifth Mumbai edition, back at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse on January 23 and 24 with 45 acts across four stages. The lineup landed on September 3 with every headliner making an India debut: Olivia Dean arrives months after winning Best New Artist at the Grammys, Limp Bizkit finally get here 14 years after a cancelled 2013 booking, KATSEYE bring the first major girl-group booking in the festival's history, and Fontaines D.C. land on the far gloomier end of the same poster, touring their October album Dopamine Chamber.

The second line runs from 5 Seconds of Summer and St. Vincent to Steve Angello and Osaka selector ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U, with Stewart Copeland and Ricky Kej staging their Grammy-winning Police Beyond Borders songbook. The domestic bench is the deepest yet. Anuv Jain tops it with a production he says was built only for this festival, alongside The Manganiyar Seduction's wall of lit boxes, fusion veterans Indian Ocean, and a rap line of Swadesi and Yashraj. The whiplash between Break Stuff and bedroom ballads drew online grumbles within the hour, which is roughly the franchise brief.

Expect pop, alternative, electronic and hip-hop across 45 acts.

The Dewaele brothers' DJ alias, the mashup pioneers who made As Heard on Radio Soulwax a genre of its own. Still the most joyful hard drive in dance music.

Gujarati folk voice behind Khalasi, which jumped from Coke Studio to every wedding dance floor in the state. Garba scale, stadium lungs.

Hindi indie's softest superstar: bedroom ballads like Baarishein and Husn built on little more than voice and guitar, now filling arenas of phone lights.

Warren Mendonsa's instrumental project, and India's most beloved guitar tone. Melodic blues-rock that says everything without a single lyric.

The headliners

  • Olivia Dean The UK's warmest new pop-soul voice — effortless, jazz-schooled songwriting that's conquered charts on both sides of the Atlantic, charm fully intact live. Booked within a year of her Best New Artist Grammy, a rare case of an Indian festival catching an act on the way up rather than after.
  • Limp Bizkit Nu-metal's chaos agents in their beloved victory-lap era — Fred Durst does it all for the nookie, still, and the field does it with him. Fred Durst promised India a make-up date when Fly Festival collapsed in 2013. This is it.
  • KATSEYE The global girl group assembled through a televised search, built on K-pop discipline but writing for a Western pop chart. First India show, with hometown stakes: member Lara Raj is Indian-origin, and the group currently tours as a four-piece.
  • Fontaines D.C. Dublin's poet-punks grown into arena-scale alt-rock — 'Romance' made them era-defining, swagger and melancholy in equal Irish measure. The Dublin post-punks' India debut, on the road behind their fifth record Dopamine Chamber.

Up-and-comers to catch early

  • Rachel Chinouriri UK indie-pop on a steep climb, and one more India debut buried in the middle of the poster.
  • Pinkshift Baltimore pop-punk with real teeth, carrying the bill's heavier wing alongside Limp Bizkit.
  • Rhea Raj LA dark-pop with South Indian roots. Her sister Lara plays the same weekend, three tiers up, with KATSEYE.
  • Anoushka Maskey Sikkim-born folk miniatures, the quietest thing on the poster and better for it.
  • Ecca Vandal Melbourne punk-rap agitator with family roots in South India, ferocious live.
  • Kayan Mumbai's own Ambika Nayak, debuting a new body of work between R&B sets and DJ decks.

Other acts worth planning around

  • 5 Seconds of Summer A debut the band has publicly wished for since at least 2022.
  • St. Vincent Six Grammys deep and the bill's most reliable live show.
  • Stewart Copeland & Ricky Kej The Police's drummer and the Bengaluru composer restage their Grammy-winning Police Beyond Borders collaboration.
  • The Manganiyar Seduction Roysten Abel's staged Rajasthani folk spectacle, dozens of musicians revealed one lit box at a time.
  • Anuv Jain Top domestic billing, with a set he says was created exclusively for the festival.
  • ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U The Osaka selector whose marathon sets went from viral clips to a global festival run.
