Ecca Vandal is a Melbourne-based musician born in South Africa to Sri Lankan Tamil parents and raised in Australia. Her music combines punk and hardcore guitar with rapped and sung vocals, electronic production and elements of hip-hop, and she released a self-titled debut album in 2017.

Her performances lean on the physical side of that mix, with a band behind her and a delivery closer to hardcore fronting than to pop singing. She has collaborated with figures from across Australian rock and rap, and her records tend to move between styles within individual songs rather than across them.
