Jet formed in Melbourne in 2001, built around brothers Nic and Chris Cester alongside Cameron Muncey and Mark Wilson. Their debut album Get Born arrived during the garage rock revival of the early 2000s and produced the single 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl', which became the band's best-known song by a wide margin. The sound is straightforward guitar rock with obvious debts to AC/DC, the Rolling Stones and Oasis, mixing riff-driven rockers with slower, piano-led ballads. The band split in 2012 and later reunited, returning to touring with the catalogue that made their name.
