Bush

4 festivals played

Gavin Rossdale's post-grunge outfit, whose mid-'90s singles have aged into genuine festival-crowd catnip — 'Glycerine' and 'Machinehead' still land like it's 1995.

Bush formed in London in 1992, with Gavin Rossdale as singer, guitarist and principal songwriter. Their debut album, Sixteen Stone, found a large audience in the United States, where the band's loud-quiet dynamics and heavy guitar tone placed them alongside the American post-grunge groups of the period, despite their British origins.

The band followed with further albums through the 1990s, including a record produced by Steve Albini, before splitting in the early 2000s. Rossdale revived the name later that decade, and Bush has continued to record and tour since, with the mid-1990s singles remaining the core of their live sets.
