Louisville post-grunge veterans on home ground — 'Breakdown'-era radio rock played for the crowd that grew up on it.
Tantric formed in Louisville, Kentucky in 1998, built around vocalist Hugo Ferreira and former members of Days of the New. Their self-titled debut arrived at the height of American post-grunge radio and produced "Breakdown" and "Astounded," the two songs most closely associated with the band.
The lineup has changed extensively over the years, with Ferreira the sole constant, and the group has continued to record and tour well past the era that first made it visible. The sound has stayed broadly consistent: mid-tempo hard rock with heavy guitars and melodic, tightly structured choruses.
