Finger Eleven

1 upcoming festival

Canadian alt-rock with a knack for a slinky, unexpected groove under the radio singles — 'Paralyzer' the funkiest thing rock radio played that decade.

Finger Eleven formed in Burlington, Ontario, originally performing as Rainbow Butt Monkeys before adopting the current name in the late 1990s. Fronted by Scott Anderson, the band worked a post-grunge template early on but showed an unusual interest in rhythm and space, something that surfaced clearly on the 2003 ballad "One Thing" and then more emphatically on "Paralyzer," a stuttering, near-danceable single from Them vs. You vs. Me that became their biggest international hit.

Across a long run of albums the group has moved between heavier riff-driven material and more restrained songwriting, with the guitar interplay of James Black and Rick Jackett a consistent feature.
