Oleander
Sacramento's own late-'90s radio rock, playing a hometown crowd that remembers every word — 'Why I'm Here' loudest of all.
Oleander formed in Sacramento, California, in 1995 and became part of the wave of American post-grunge bands that found radio play at the end of the decade. Their sound sits in the melodic end of alternative rock: distorted guitars, mid-tempo tempos and choruses built for rock radio formats of the era.
The band is best known for "Why I'm Here," which remains the song most closely associated with them, and they have continued to perform and record intermittently since their initial run.
