About Shakori Hills 2026
Shakori Hills runs twice a year on a farm outside Pittsboro, and the fall edition is its 22nd. Four days, four stages, October 1–4, with camping, workshops, a puppet parade and a square dance threaded between the sets. Donna the Buffalo founded the thing and still anchor it: Thursday night on the Meadow Stage, Saturday night after Margo Price, and the all-star jam that closes the whole festival on Sunday.
The 2026 bill reads roots music widely. Margo Price takes Saturday night and Anders Osborne Friday, with The Steel Wheels and Chatham County Line in the early evenings. Under them it gets more interesting: Joe Troop & The Truth Machine, Keith Secola on two stages, Horace Trahan's zydeco closing the Dance Tent, the Gullah Collective's Lowcountry set, Brazilian songs from Também, dub Addis after midnight, and a deep bench of Triangle bands in the Cabaret Tent.
