UK house classicist — 'Ocean Drive' sunsets guaranteed, with 'Need U (100%)' and a decade of chart-house craft behind them.

Duke Dumont is the recording name of Adam Dyment, a British producer and DJ from London. He works largely in house music, drawing on the piano chords, garage rhythms and vocal hooks of 1990s UK and American dance records rather than the harder edges of contemporary EDM.

Early on he was mentored by the producer Switch and made his name remixing pop records, including Lily Allen's "The Fear," Mystery Jets' "Two Doors Down" and Bat for Lashes' "Daniel." His first EPs, Regality and The Dominion Dubs, appeared in 2007 and 2008, and he mixed Fabric's FabricLive.51 compilation in 2010 before moving out of London to the Hertfordshire countryside to focus on original material.

Turbo Recordings released two For Club Play Only EPs in 2012, gaining airplay from Annie Mac, Fearne Cotton and Trevor Nelson, alongside remixes for AlunaGeorge and Santigold. "Need U (100%)," featuring A*M*E, topped the UK singles chart in 2013, and "I Got U," which interpolates Whitney Houston's "My Love Is Your Love," repeated the feat later that year.

He became widely known through those singles, both of which reached number one in the UK, and "Won't Look Back," which reached number two in 2014. He runs his output through the label Blasé Boys Club, and its Pt. 1 EP carried "Ocean Drive," a warmer, more melodic track that became one of his most recognisable songs.

His DJ sets and productions tend to stay within that classicist house framework, favouring groove and melody over abrupt drops. He released his debut album, Duality, in 2020, gathering the sound he had spent a decade refining across singles and EPs.
