About Electric Picnic 2026
Electric Picnic is Ireland's big weekend: 80,000 people in the grounds of Stradbally Hall in Co. Laois, three days of music wrapped in an arts festival that keeps sprawling into woods, walled gardens and a fake town or two. 2026 is headlined by Lewis Capaldi on the Friday, Gorillaz on the Saturday and Fontaines D.C. on the Sunday, with sombr, CMAT, Zara Larsson and Amble taking the slots underneath them.
The striking thing about this bill is how much of it is Irish, and not just in the undercard. Fontaines D.C. close the festival, CMAT plays straight before Gorillaz, Amble and The Saw Doctors and The Mary Wallopers hold Main Stage evening slots, and Rankins Wood hands its Saturday and Sunday closes to The Scratch and Hermitage Green. Croí runs a whole weekend of trad and Irish-language programming (Altan, John Francis Flynn, Dónal Lunny with Máirtín O'Connor and Zoë Conway, Maighread and Tríona Ní Dhomhnaill) while Rockshore Live and the Guinness bar stage give the nights to NewDad, Bricknasty, Thumper, Pillow Queens, Silverbacks and Sorcha Richardson.
Set times are live. This page carries the ten music stages that publish a running order: Main Stage, Electric Arena, Rankins Wood, Red Bull X Terminus, the Smirnoff Stage, Rockshore Live, Croí Main Stage, Salty Dog, Guinness The Lovely Local and Glow Depot. The festival's own final count is over 800 performances across 50 stages, and the rest of that number is the parts of Electric Picnic that aren't a music bill (the Comedy Arena, Mindfield's spoken-word and podcast stages, Little Picnic, Global Green, Theatre of Food, Fossett's Circus) plus late-night areas that programme too loosely to schedule, like Trailer Park, Fishtown, Mother After Dark and the deliberately unlisted BerlinHaus.
The days ramp differently. Friday's Main Stage doesn't open until 18:00 and then stacks everything into one late block: Lewis Capaldi, Ben Hemsley and NewDad all start at 22:45, with Loyle Carner at 23:00. Saturday starts at 14:00 and gives Gorillaz the longest set of the weekend at 90 minutes. Sunday opens earliest, at 13:00 with the RTÉ Céilí Mór, and closes on the weekend's worst clash: at 22:30 exactly, Fontaines D.C., Obskür, Hermitage Green and Skepta's Smirnoff DJ set all begin. Glow Depot runs to 04:00 every night.
