James Marriott is a British musician who first built an audience online as a YouTuber before moving into indie rock. Based in Brighton, he writes guitar-led songs with big, singalong choruses and lyrics that lean on self-deprecation and dry humour, often circling anxiety, growing up and life lived partly in public. He has released music independently and tours with a full band, playing to crowds largely carried over from his internet following, and his live shows tend to be loud and communal rather than solo-acoustic.
