Wet Leg

1 upcoming festival

Deadpan, hook-loaded post-punk — the Isle of Wight duo grown into a full-blast rock band, 'Chaise Longue' just the opening joke.

Wet Leg formed on the Isle of Wight in 2019 around Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, who write the songs and share vocals. Their first single arrived in 2021 on Domino and was followed by a self-titled debut album in 2022, which won a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album.

The music sits between indie rock and post-punk revival: clipped guitar figures, blunt rhythm-section playing, and lyrics delivered flat and dry, often about boredom, awkward parties and unhelpful men. On stage the duo is filled out into a full band, and the live arrangements push the songs harder and louder than the recorded versions.
