The Stunning
Galway's early-90s hitmakers — 'Brewing Up A Storm' and 'Half Past Two' still doing the heavy lifting at every festival they play.
The Stunning formed in Galway in the late 1980s around brothers Steve and Joe Wall, Steve on vocals and guitar, Joe on bass. Their debut album, Paradise in the Picturehouse, arrived in 1990 and made them one of the biggest live draws in Ireland at the time, playing guitar pop with horn parts and singalong choruses. "Brewing Up a Storm" and "Half Past Two" came from that period and remain the songs audiences turn up for.
The band split in the mid-1990s, after which the Wall brothers went on to form The Walls. Steve Wall has also worked steadily as an actor. The Stunning regrouped in the early 2000s and have played together on and off since, drawing mainly on the first two records.
