Darren Kiely grew up in Cork and started out posting songs online, which is how most of his early audience found him. He works with banjo and acoustic guitar alongside Irish traditional touches, set to folk-pop songwriting that leans on plainspoken lyrics about home, leaving and drink. Since the songs took hold he has played headline shows across Ireland, the UK and the United States, filling out the arrangements with a full band.
