Molly Tuttle

1 festival played

Two-time IBMA guitar player of the year — flatpicking virtuosity fronting new-school bluegrass.

Molly Tuttle grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, learning guitar from her father, a bluegrass instructor, and playing in family bands before studying at Berklee College of Music. She is known for flatpicking and clawhammer guitar technique, and became the first woman named Guitar Player of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association.

Her work moves between traditional bluegrass and songwriting that borrows from folk and pop, and she performs with her band Golden Highway. She has also spoken publicly about living with alopecia.
