Scotchie is an Asheville guitarist and singer who came up playing the clubs of western North Carolina, for years leading the band Andrew Scotchie and the River Rats. He writes loose, riff-driven rock with blues phrasing in the solos and a rasp in the vocals, and his sets lean on long jams and covers pulled from the same 1970s well.
