Sarah Potenza is a singer based in Nashville who works in blues, soul and roots rock. Originally from Rhode Island, she performed and recorded for years in a duo with her husband, guitarist Ian Crossman, before appearing as a contestant on the American television series The Voice, which brought her a wider audience.
Her singing is the centerpiece of her work: a loud, rough-edged, gospel-inflected delivery applied to original songs that often deal with body image, self-acceptance and personal resilience. She has continued to record and tour as a solo artist since her television appearance.
