Irish folk trio — hushed three-part harmonies and homesick story-songs that have been quietly filling rooms far bigger than anyone expected.

Robbie Cunningham and Oisín McCaffrey started Amble in 2022 with a simple goal: playing cover songs in pubs in exchange for free pints. Ross McNerney joined soon after, brought in for his mandolin and banjo playing, rounding the group into the trio it remains.

A gig in Leitrim changed McNerney's thinking, and he suggested the band try being a proper going concern. At the time Cunningham was a primary school teacher in Terenure, McCaffrey a data scientist at Pfizer, and McNerney a secondary school teacher in Longford. All three left their jobs in 2024 after signing to Warner Records.

When Cunningham told his father he was quitting his job for the band, his father replied, "throw the trout out to catch the salmon," a line the band has kept close enough to print on its merchandise.

The band has since opened shows on Hozier's Unreal Unearth Tour and, in 2026, joined Ed Sheeran's Loop Tour as a supporting act across North America.
