Melbourne's deadpan folk harmonists — three voices, one wicked sense of humor, close-harmony singing with a stand-up's timing.
Folk Bitch Trio is a three-piece from Melbourne, formed in 2020, whose music centres on close vocal harmony. Gracie Sinclair, Jeanie Pilkington and Heide Peverelle share writing and lead duties, backing themselves with acoustic guitar and building arrangements around the interplay of the three voices.
The songs sit between indie folk and singer-songwriter territory, with lyrics that are frank and often darkly funny. Their live shows carry the same dry, between-song humour that gave the group its name, treating the stage patter almost as part of the set.
The trio released its debut single, "Houselights", in 2020, followed by a split single with Bones and Jones, "Friendly Neighbour"/"If I Was a Man", in 2022. Further songs, "Analogue" and "I Heard", appeared in 2023, and "God's a Different Sword" followed in 2024, building a run of standalone singles ahead of any full-length release.
Folk Bitch Trio signed to Jagjaguwar in 2025, and released their debut album, Now Would Be a Good Time, on 25 July 2025.
