Georgia singer-songwriter working a whispered-to-belted dynamic, with streaming numbers to match.

Jonah Kagen is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Savannah, Georgia, who began releasing music independently in the early 2020s. He built his early following through short-form video and streaming platforms, an audience that grew large enough to support touring before he had any major label backing.

He performs acoustic-based folk-pop songs, often built around fingerpicked guitar and a voice that moves between a near-whisper and a full-throated chorus. His early releases, including the song 'Broken' and the EP 'georgia got colder,' established the confessional, plainly worded style he has continued to work in.

In May 2025 his single 'God Needs the Devil' reached number one on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart, a crossover moment for an artist who started out posting songs online rather than through a conventional label rollout.

Later that year he released his second album, Sunflowers and Leather, written while he traveled across the United States pulling an Airstream trailer behind him. The record extended the same plainspoken songwriting into new settings gathered from the road.
