Pop's reigning vanguardist — the brat era's architect bringing club-pop chaos to the main stage, a decade of underground experiments finally cashing out at scale.

Charli xcx is an English singer and songwriter, born Charlotte Aitchison and raised in Essex. She began posting music online as a teenager and broke through in the early 2010s, both under her own name and as a writer and featured vocalist on other artists' hits. From the mixtapes Number 1 Angel and Pop 2 onward she worked closely with producers associated with PC Music, pushing her sound toward abrasive, heavily processed club pop while keeping conventional pop structures underneath. The 2024 album Brat consolidated that approach for a much larger audience, and its subsequent remix edition featured a long list of guest collaborators.
