Half of 100 gecs behind the decks — chaos engineering as a solo set, hyperpop's producer-in-chief running unfiltered.

Dylan Brady grew up in suburban St. Louis, took piano lessons in high school and became interested in composing music there. He went on to study audio engineering in college, where he began putting tracks on SoundCloud as an electronic hip hop producer, releasing demo albums in 2013 and 2014 before the 100 gecs project existed.

Best known as one half of 100 gecs alongside Laura Les, Brady built a production practice defined by extreme compression, pitch-shifted vocals and abrupt collisions of pop, emo, trap and dance music well before that group drew wider attention.

His solo catalogue includes the 2015 debut album All I Ever Wanted, the 2016 EP Choker, a self-titled 100 gecs EP the same year, and 2017's Sinses and Dog Show EPs. The 2018 EP Peace & Love was his first release on the Mad Decent label, followed in 2019 by This Car Needs Some Wheels, a collaborative album made with singer and producer Josh Pan.

Brady also runs the label Dog Show Records and has produced and mixed for a range of artists working at the edges of pop and rap. His solo DJ sets draw on that same catalogue and sensibility: high-tempo, densely edited, and built around the sharp turns and blown-out low end that characterise his production work.
