Internet-native club pop with the gloss cranked past the point of taste — Eurodance, trance and rap ad-libs fed through a blown-out speaker.

babymorocco was born Clayton Pettet in Poole, England, and grew up in Boscombe, a suburb of Bournemouth. As a teenager he spent time at an under-18 trance night that he has described as reshaping how he thinks about music, and he later moved to London to study fine art at Central Saint Martins.

Before making music he worked as a performance artist. In 2013 he announced a piece called Art School Stole My Virginity, staged the following year, in which he had said he would lose his virginity in front of an audience; the show instead turned into something else entirely, and the announcement alone made international news.

He began releasing music professionally during the Covid-19 pandemic, putting out his debut single in 2020 before signing to True Panther Records, which released his first EP, The Sound, in 2023 behind the single 'Sun Sex Party'. His tracks borrow from Eurodance, trance and 2000s pop-rap, delivered in a heavily processed, ad-lib-heavy vocal style, and he releases material at a rapid pace online, often through his own label, Phat Boy Records.

He has collaborated with producers and vocalists from the same internet-based pop scene, appearing on Jockstrap's track 'Sexy' in 2023, and opened for Dorian Electra on European tour dates in 2024. A mixtape, The Summer Fables, is scheduled for release in 2026. The image around the project, gym culture, brand logos, deliberately overloaded artwork, is treated as part of the music rather than separate from it.
