Slayyyter is the recording name of Catherine Slater, a singer and songwriter from the St. Louis area who first drew attention through tracks released online in the late 2010s. Her music draws on late-1990s and early-2000s dance-pop and club production, filtered through the internet-native hyperpop scene, with glossy synths, heavy vocal processing and an emphasis on camp and persona.

She released a self-titled mixtape before moving to full-length albums, and has built an audience particularly among queer listeners. Her live shows follow the same maximalist pop-star framing as the records.
