Reinvented from short-form-video ubiquity into a genuinely well-made art-pop project — breathy vocals, early-2000s dance production, and co-signs from pop's most discerning corners.

Addison Rae Easterling was born on 6 October 2000 and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. She competed in dance from age six and briefly studied broadcast journalism at Louisiana State University before dropping out in late 2019, when her following on the recently joined TikTok passed a million and she moved to Los Angeles to pursue it full time.

She became one of the platform's most-followed creators, later signing with WME, launching a beauty line called Item Beauty and a fragrance line, and appearing in films including 'He's All That' and 'Thanksgiving'. Her early single 'Obsessed' appeared in 2021, followed by the EP 'AR' in 2023 and a period in which unreleased material circulated online and shifted perceptions of the project.

In 2024 she signed to Columbia Records and released 'Diet Pepsi', her first major-label single, which went platinum and gave her a first entry on the Billboard Hot 100. Her later work leans on airy, layered vocals and production drawing on late-1990s and early-2000s dance-pop, developed with collaborators including Luka Kloser and Elvira Anderfjärd, and she has also worked with Charli xcx.

Her debut album, 'Addison', followed in 2025, debuting at number four on the Billboard 200 and earning her a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.
