The producer who welded French house to American pop radio and never really stopped — a career built on the festival-sized chorus.

David Guetta grew up in Paris and studied economics and social policy at Paris Nanterre University while working as a club DJ, eventually managing the nightclub Le Palace and organising parties around the city. He put out early material such as the 1990 hip-hop collaboration "Nation Rap" long before mainstream crossover, building a reputation on the Paris club circuit through the 1990s.

His first three albums, Just a Little More Love, Guetta Blaster and Pop Life, established him within house music without reaching a wide pop audience. That changed with One Love in 2009, which paired his production with vocalists including Kelly Rowland and Akon and set the pattern for the dance-pop hybrid that followed him for the next decade.

Nothing but the Beat extended that run, and "Titanium", featuring Sia, became one of his most lasting songs. He later coined the term "future rave" with producer Morten Breum and released an EP under that name, and his 2022 single "I'm Good (Blue)", with Bebe Rexha, spent an extended run on the US dance chart.

Guetta has produced and remixed for a long list of pop and hip-hop artists, work recognised with two Grammy Awards and repeated number-one placings in DJ Mag's annual poll across the 2010s and 2020s. His sets stay close to the big-room end of house, built around drops, familiar vocal hooks and material drawn from across his catalogue, which he sold outright in 2021.
