A classically trained producer whose precision-engineered pop-EDM defined mainstage sound for a decade — 'Clarity' still the gold standard.
Zedd is the producer and DJ Anton Zaslavski, born in Russia and raised in Kaiserslautern, Germany. He trained as a classical pianist and played drums in a rock band before turning to electronic production, and the technical precision of that background carries into his work.
He came up through the complextro and electro house scene around 2010 before moving toward pop, and his 2012 single "Clarity," with vocals by Foxes, won a Grammy for Best Dance Recording and set the template for a decade of festival-scaled dance-pop. Later hits include "Break Free" with Ariana Grande, "Stay" with Alessia Cara and "The Middle" with Maren Morris and Grey. His DJ sets are built around that catalogue and the mainstage sound it helped define.
