Canadian duo who helped invent melodic dubstep with a run of era-defining remixes — soaring vocals over filthy-then-gorgeous drops that taught bass music how to feel.

Christian Srigley and Leighton James started out as a hardcore pop-punk band in high school in Montreal, growing bored with that sound before a dubstep remix of Brand New's 'Daisy' caught on through the blog aggregator Hype Machine. The response convinced them to move fully into electronic production, adopting the name Adventure Club in 2011.

Alongside the 'Crave You' remix, their reworking of Yuna's 'Lullabies' helped cement the vocal-led, melodic strain of dubstep they became associated with. The duo has cited influences ranging from Tiësto and Flux Pavilion to the metalcore bands Greeley Estates and Bring Me the Horizon.

Their debut album, Red // Blue, arrived in December 2016, led by the single 'Dreams' featuring ELEA and including 'Firestorm' with Sara Diamond. The record drew together the dubstep, drum and bass and broader EDM strands the pair had worked across since their early singles.

Adventure Club toured widely through North America, Europe and Australia, and their music turned up beyond club sets: the 'Crave You' remix featured in an episode of Teen Wolf, 'Do I See Color' soundtracked a Coca-Cola advert, and 'Rise and Fall', featuring Krewella, appeared on the series Eye Candy.
