The heaviest end of North American bass music, staged with a wall of subs and a light rig that does half the assault.

Born Jeffrey Travis Abel on April 29, 1986, Excision started out mixing dubstep compilations under the names Darkside Dubstep and Ruttun Dubstep before releasing his first original track, 'Warning,' in 2007. He built his own infrastructure early, founding Rottun Recordings along with Subsidia Records and Destroid Music to release his own work and that of collaborators.

His debut EP, Boom, came out on Rottun in 2009, followed by collaborations with producer Downlink including 'Heavy Artillery,' with rapper Messinian, and the 2011 Existence EP. That partnership carried into Destroid, a project also involving drummer KJ Sawka, which released the album The Invasion in 2013.

Excision's debut solo album, X Rated, arrived in 2011 on Deadmau5's label Mau5trap and was supported by a tour with Liquid Stranger and Lucky Date. He followed it with Codename X in 2015 and Virus in 2016, the latter featuring Dion Timmer, Space Laces and Protohype among its guests.

The live show has always been part of the record. In 2013 he introduced the Executioner stage, a 28-foot-wide rig with 40 lasers, then toured with a 100,000-watt sound system at a Colorado show billed as Boomfest. A 2014 tour ran on a 150,000-watt PK Sound system, and 2016's Paradox production toured with Bear Grillz and Figure.
