Getter is Tanner Petulla, a producer and DJ from San Jose, California. He came up in the early 2010s American dubstep scene, releasing bass-heavy material through labels including Datsik's Firepower Records and OWSLA, and became associated with the heavier, more aggressive end of the style.
His 2017 album Visceral marked a sharp turn, pulling in emo, hip-hop and rock elements and darker, more personal writing, and he has moved between those modes since while returning periodically to straightforward bass music. He also records hip-hop under the alias Terror Reid, and has maintained a comedic online presence alongside the music.
