Montreal's helmeted apocalypse trio — cinematic electro-bass performed like a dystopian rock band.

Black Tiger Sex Machine is an electronic trio from Montreal, formed by Marc Chagnon, Julien Maranda and Patrick Barry. The group performs wearing illuminated tiger masks, and their live show leans heavily on that visual identity, with lighting and staging built around the helmets.

Their music sits between electro house, dubstep and heavier bass styles, favouring dark, cinematic builds and abrasive drops. They also run their own label, Kannibalen Records, which has released work by a wider circle of Canadian bass producers and helped establish a recognisable house sound around the crew.
