Montreal pop-punk that took the genre fully mainstream and has never pretended otherwise — 'I'm Just a Kid' now two generations deep.

Simple Plan formed in Montreal in 1999, with Pierre Bouvier on vocals, and became one of the most commercially successful pop-punk bands of the early 2000s. Their songs are short, fast and heavily hooked, with lyrics about adolescence, family friction and not fitting in, delivered without much irony.

'I'm Just a Kid', 'Perfect' and 'Welcome to My Life' are the tracks that carried them beyond the punk audience and onto mainstream radio, and 'I'm Just a Kid' found a second life online years after its release. The band, whose lineup has remained largely stable, has kept touring internationally, and their sets lean on that early catalogue.
