Florida post-hardcore with clean-vocal lift and an ear for the theatrical — technical enough for the Swancore crowd, catchy enough for everyone else.

Capstan formed in Orlando, Florida, and signed to Fearless Records, placing them alongside the label's roster of melodic post-hardcore acts. Their songs alternate screamed and clean vocals over technical guitar work, with frequent time-signature changes and arrangements that make room for strings, horns and electronics — closer to the progressive end of the style than to straightforward pop-punk. The band has released several albums in this vein, generally organised around a central theme or concept, and tours regularly in the United States.
