Sleeping with Sirens formed in Orlando, Florida, in 2009, and are fronted by Kellin Quinn, whose unusually high tenor is the band's most recognisable element. Their music moves between post-hardcore, pop-punk and straightforward alternative rock, with screamed passages sitting alongside large melodic choruses, and they have also recorded acoustic versions of their own material.

The band came up through the American scene of the early 2010s and became a fixture on Warped Tour, building an audience alongside contemporaries such as Pierce the Veil, with whom they have frequently toured and collaborated.
