Mid-2000s screamo whose most famous alumnus left to become a dubstep producer — 'Dear Diary' drama that still hits the scene's pleasure centers.

From First to Last formed in 1999 and became one of the more widely heard screamo bands of the mid-2000s, with a sound built on shouted and sung vocal trade-offs, heavily processed guitars and pop structures buried under distortion. The band is most often remembered for the period when Sonny Moore fronted it, before he departed and began recording electronic music as Skrillex. From First to Last continued afterward with other vocalists, and Moore later returned for further recordings. The group has reunited intermittently, and its early material remains a reference point for the era's post-hardcore scene.
