Set It Off formed in Tampa, Florida in 2008, fronted by vocalist Cody Carson. The band began in the pop-punk and post-hardcore orbit before moving toward a more polished pop-rock sound, and their records often lean on piano, strings and other orchestral touches alongside guitars. Carson's background as a trained musician and his wide vocal range are central to the arrangements, which frequently take a narrative, theatrical approach to song structure.
