Susanna Hoffs is a singer, guitarist and songwriter from Los Angeles, best known as a founding member of the Bangles, the band she formed in the early 1980s. She sang lead on several of the group's biggest songs, including 'Manic Monday' and 'Eternal Flame', and her jangling guitar and clear, close-harmony vocals are central to their sound.
Away from the Bangles she has released solo albums and recorded a series of covers records with Matthew Sweet under the title Under the Covers, working through material from the 1960s, '70s and '80s. She has also published fiction.
