The pop-punk/metalcore hybrid blueprint — mosh-call breakdowns and sugar-rush hooks in equal measure, delivered with beach balls, confetti cannons, and total arena confidence.

A Day To Remember formed in Ocala, Florida, in 2003, founded by guitarist Tom Denney and drummer Bobby Scruggs alongside singer Jeremy McKinnon, guitarist Neil Westfall and bassist Joshua Woodard. After self-released EPs, the band signed to Indianola Records for its debut album, And Their Name Was Treason, in 2005, which sold more than 10,000 copies. Scruggs left in 2006 and was replaced by Alex Shelnutt.

The band built its sound by alternating metalcore breakdowns and melodic pop-punk choruses, often within a single song. Signed to Victory Records, they released For Those Who Have Heart in 2007 and Homesick in 2009, and the approach became influential enough to acquire its own label, easycore. During the Homesick tour, Denney was replaced by guitarist Kevin Skaff.

Following What Separates Me from You in 2010, the band toured worldwide before entering a legal dispute with Victory Records over its recording contract. In 2013 they won the right to self-release material pending a final verdict, and put out Common Courtesy that October under their own terms.

Later records leaned further toward alternative rock and radio-scale songwriting without abandoning the heavier material, including Bad Vibrations in 2016 and You're Welcome in 2021, the band's first release for Fueled by Ramen. A further album, Big Ole Album Vol. 1, followed in 2025.

Their live shows are known for a party atmosphere, with confetti, beach balls and crowd participation set against the heavier parts of the catalogue.
