A Day To Remember formed in Ocala, Florida in 2003, and built their sound by alternating between metalcore breakdowns and melodic pop-punk choruses, often within a single song. Fronted by Jeremy McKinnon, the band gained a following through albums including For Those Who Have Heart and Homesick, and the approach became influential enough to acquire its own label, easycore.

Later records leaned further toward alternative rock and radio-scale songwriting without abandoning the heavier material. Their live shows are known for a party atmosphere, with confetti, beach balls and crowd participation set against the heavier parts of the catalogue.
