Cartel
Atlanta pop-punk lifers — 'Chroma' still hits like 2005, a front-to-back scene classic that never needed a follow-up to justify the devotion.
Cartel formed in Conyers, Georgia, in the early 2000s and became one of the better-known pop-punk bands to emerge from the Atlanta area. Their 2005 album Chroma, which produced the single "Honestly," remains their defining record and a touchstone for listeners who followed the mid-decade pop-punk and emo scene. The band's sound leans on bright guitar hooks, layered vocal harmonies and choruses built for singing along, with more power-pop craft than the harder edge of some of their contemporaries. They have continued to record and tour, but Chroma is still the album audiences turn out for.
