Bring Me The Horizon formed in Sheffield in 2004 and began as a deathcore band, with Oli Sykes screaming over technical, breakdown-heavy guitar work. The group changed direction repeatedly over the following two decades, moving through metalcore into arena-scaled alternative rock and, later, into music shaped as much by electronic production and pop songwriting as by metal.

Keyboardist and producer Jordan Fish became central to that later sound before departing in 2023. Along the way the band picked up a mainstream audience well beyond its original scene while remaining a point of argument within it — a trajectory that makes them one of the more divisive British heavy bands of their generation.
