Clean-and-scream metalcore from the Rise Records boom, played with more muscle than nostalgia — Phoenix scene veterans who kept the choruses enormous.

Blessthefall grew out of high school practice sessions in Phoenix, Arizona, where guitarist Mike Frisby, drummer Matt Traynor and bassist-vocalist Jared Warth built the band's first lineup alongside Miles Bergsma and Andrew Barr. Original singer Craig Mabbitt joined soon after, and the group's debut album, His Last Walk, came out in 2006 before Mabbitt left the band the following year.

Mabbitt departed during a European tour to spend time with family and went on to join Escape the Fate. Blessthefall found its permanent lineup shift in 2008 when Beau Bokan took over lead vocals, with Jared Warth handling screamed parts alongside him from then on.

The band became one of the more visible acts on Fearless Records during the late-2000s metalcore and post-hardcore boom, pairing harsh vocals and breakdowns with sung choruses and keyboard textures. That formula put them alongside contemporaries on the Warped Tour circuit throughout the era.

Albums followed steadily: Witness in 2009, Awakening in 2011, Hollow Bodies in 2013, To Those Left Behind in 2015 and Hard Feelings in 2018. After Traynor's departure, Warth remained the only original member still in the band.

Blessthefall went quiet for several years before returning in May 2023 with the song "Wake the Dead," their first new material in five years, continuing to tour internationally well past the scene that produced them.
