We The Kings formed in Bradenton, Florida, in the mid-2000s, growing out of a group of high-school friends fronted by singer Travis Clark. Their self-titled debut arrived on S-Curve Records in 2007 and produced "Check Yes Juliet," the song that remains their best-known, along with "Skyway Avenue." They later scored a hit with "We'll Be a Dream," a duet with Demi Lovato.

The band's sound sits squarely in the pop-punk of its era: bright guitars, big unison choruses and lyrics about summer, small towns and leaving them. They have continued releasing records and touring long after the MySpace boom that first carried them, with Clark also writing and producing for other artists.
