Richmond pop-punk with a genuine pop instinct — hooks first, scene second, and choruses polished enough to pass for radio pop with the guitars turned down.

Broadside formed in Richmond, Virginia in 2010 and spent its early years touring alongside bands including the Ataris, Title Fight and Polar Bear Club. The band self-released a five-song EP, Far From Home, in 2011, then re-recorded and expanded it into a full-length of the same name a year later through the Japanese label Ice Grill$ Records.

Ollie Baxxter joined as lead vocalist in January 2013; by 2015 he was the only member left from the band's earlier lineups, which have continued to change since. That year Broadside signed to Victory Records and released the album Old Bones.

The band leans harder on melody and vocal performance than most of its peers, with clean production, layered harmonies and song structures closer to mainstream pop than to the genre's punk roots. The guitars remain loud, but the writing consistently puts the hook first.

Paradise followed in 2017, reaching number 17 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, with King of Nothing / Empty arriving in 2019 and Into the Raging Sea in 2020. More singles followed, including 'One Last Time' and 'Cruel', the latter featuring Brian Butcher of the Home Team, before the band signed to Thriller Records in 2025 and released 'I Think They Know' and 'Warning Signs'.
