Orlando gruff-melodic punks with sharp, politically charged hooks — a Florida-scene stalwart with big-hearted songwriting and no patience for the powerful.

Debt Neglector formed in Orlando, Florida, in 2016, fronted by Alex Goldfarb. The band writes fast, hook-driven punk rock rooted in the gruff-melodic tradition: shouted-but-tuneful vocals, driving tempos and choruses built for group singing rather than solo performance. The songs favor immediacy over polish, aiming for the kind of hook a crowd can shout back within a verse or two.

Lyrically the band takes on politics, economic precarity and personal frustration, delivered with a directness that leaves little room for metaphor. Rather than gesture at broad anger, the songs name specific grievances, aiming pointed commentary at those in power and at the systems that fail everyone else.

The band emerged from Orlando's long-running DIY punk community, playing basement shows and small clubs alongside other acts from that scene before building a wider following. They have released records through independent labels tied to that same network, most recently Kinda Rips, out now on Smartpunk Records.
